Helambu
I propose you a trek of one week ideal to have a concentrate about Nepal. You will start with a tour of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with a guide to see the main attractions of the city.
Helambu is a region with typical mountain villages in Nepal about 80 km from Kathmandu. You will meet the population of Hyolmos, Lamas Sherpa Tamand and many Nepalese people. Many views of the mountains around the gateway to Langtang and the Everest region.
The Helambu region begins at La Lauribina Pass to the Melamchi Valley. Helambu is known for its sweet apples and Buddhist artistic monasteries. An important Buddhist pilgrimage site.
This trek in the Helambu is a combination of different landscapes and encounters with various ethnic groups. This trek is not too difficult. It is therefore ideal for a short trek to low budget.
Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu
Travel through Langtang National Park to Gosaikunda Lake. The lake remains frozen for six months in winter, from October to June. This is the highlight of the show, the objective of this trek. A magical place at 4 380 m above sea level. The landscapes are of course at the rendez-vous and that’s what you came for. But it is also the culture and the traditions that you wish to discover. This path goes up the valley through the stupas. Typical cult places.
Helumbu is a region away from the tourist crowds. It’s more authentic and you will get closer to Tibetan culture. Around you, summits over 7 000 m. A wonderful panorama awaits you there.
Before the departure for this trek, you will have the pleasure to visit, with a guide who will show you the points of attractions, the city of Kathmandu as for example the animated district of Thamel.
It is an ideal trekking of two weeks for a first approach in the Himalayas.
Langtang national park
The national park is a protected area and borders the Qomolangma Nature Reserve in Tibet. A place for nature lovers with a developed flora and fauna. A trek that can be tiring because the differences in altitude are important. You like birds. You will be in heaven. The national park has more than 250 bird species.
Many animals live in Langtang National Park: red panda, Siberian musk, Himalayan tahr, Himalayan black bear, gorals or saros. You may have the chance to see the Snow Leopard.
From the rainforest below 1 000 meters of altitude to the eternal snow, the Langtang Valley offers diverse landscapes between greenery and rock of Lake Gosaikunda at 4 380 meters.
