Pisang peak climbing and Thorong La Pass – Trek 20 days

 

The Pisang Peak is a peak that rises to 6 091 meters. Pisang Peak is between Annapurna I and Manaslu. The ascent of Pisang Peak is difficult and it is classified in category “B”. Its ascent allows to have an extraordinary view on Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III and IV but also on Manaslu and Gangapurna..
The route of the ascent is thought to have proper acclimatization. From the end of November to the end of March, snow is present from 4000 meters. This trekking pic is an expedition trip. It is also on Pisang peak that the mountaineering school of Manang do the training.
The expedition begins at Besisahar where the Marsyangdi River flows and where there are fiew waterfalls. It will end for the desert area of Jomsom which is an access for the Mustang to get to the hot springs of Tatopani. There, the trip taks end with the visit of Pokhara before returning to Kathmandu.

Itinerary :

  • Day 1 : Arrival – Transfer from the airport to the hotel with a welcome dinner
  • Day 2 :Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu – Check up of equipment (rental if needed)
  • Day 3 : From Kathmandu to Besisahar then to Ngadi – 7 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 4 : Trek from Ngadi to Chyamche (1 430 m) – 6 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 5 : Trek from Chyamche to Danakyu (2 190 m) – 6 hours – night lodge
  • Day 6 : Trek from Danakyu to Chame (2 670m) – 5 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 7 : Trek from Chame to Pisang (3 200 m)- 5 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 8 : Trek from Pisang base camp to Pisang peak (4 380 m) – 6 hours – night in tent
  • Day 9 :Pisang peak climbing – Pisang base camp to Pisang peak hight camp ( 5 400 m) – 3 to 4 hours – night in tente
  • Day 10 : Pisang peak hight camp to Pisang summit (6 091 m) then coma back at the first camp (4 380 m) – 9 hours – night in tente
  • Day 11 : From Pisang bae camp, direction Manang (3 450 m) – 6 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 12 : Trek from Manang to Yak kharka (4 000 m) – 4 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 13 : Trek from Yak kharka to Thorong high camp (4 925 m) – 4 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 14 : Trek from Throng high camp to Thorong La Pass (5 416 m) and Muktinath (3 760 m) – 9 hours – night in lodge lodge
  • Day 15 : Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2 720 m) – 5 to 6 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 16 : From Jomsom to hot springs of Tatopani (1 190 m) by bus – 6 hours – night in lodge
  • Day 17 : From Tatopani to Pokhara by bus – 7 hours – night in hotel
  • Day 18 : Sightseeing tour of Pokhara
  • Day 19 : Go back to Katmandou by bus – 7 hours – night in hotel and farewell dinner
  • Day 20 : Airport transfert
