Upper Mustang trail + Poon Hill – 19 days

Trekking in Upper Mustang is like doing a trek in Tibet! Upper Mustang is geographically spread over part of the Tibetan Plateau. You will be able to make this trip only with a guide recognized by the government and have a special trekking permit. The trek to Upper Mustang is not difficult and the highest point is only 3,800 meters but we will go higher. This region is very cold in the winter and windy all year long.

Itinerary of the Upper Mustang trekking :

• Day 1 : Kathmandu – From Kathmandu, we go to Pokhara then from Nayapul to Hile (1 120 m) – 4 or 5 hours
• Day 2 : Go to Ghorepani (2 860 m) – 5 or 6 hours
• Day 3 : Ghorepani, Poon Hill to Tatopani (1 190 m) – 6 or 7 hours
• Day 4 : Tatopani Hot Spring to Ghasa (2 010 m) – 5 to 6 hours
• Day 5 : Ghasa to Marpha (2 670 m) – 5 to 6 hours
• Day 6 : Marpha to Kagbeni (2 800 m) – 4 to 5 hours
• Day 7 : Kagbeni to Chele (3 100 m) – 5 to 6 hours
• Days 8-9 : Chele to Syanbochen (3 800 m) – 6 to 7 hours
• Day 10 : Syanbochen to Ghami (3 510 m) – 5 or 6 hours
• Day 11 : Ghami to Charang (3 506 m)– 4 or 5 hours
• Day 12 : Charang to Lo Mongthang (3 840 m) – 5 or 6 hours
• Day 13 : Lo Mongthang sightseeing
• Day 14 : Lo Mongthang to Ghar Gompa (3 920 m) – 4 or 5 hours
• Day 15 : Ghar Gompa to Ghiling (3 530 m) – 5 or 6 hours
• Day 16 : Ghiling to Chele (3 100 m) – 5 or 6 hours
• Day 17 : Kagbeni (2 800 m) – 3 or 4 hours
• Day 18 : Kagbeni to Jomson (2 720 m) – 2 hours
• Day 19 : Flight to Pokhara – 5 or 6 hours
